Item Description

A nice display specimen from an undisclosed locality in Freiberg featuring a few compresses scalenohedral crystals of golden-yellow Calcite measuring up to 1.7 cm across sitting on a matrix of intermixed silvery Galena and deep reddish-black Sphalerite coated by white pearly Ankerite. The Calcite crystals are a little roughed up, but the piece is still very showy and actually sits up on its own without the aid of a base or clay. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3210) with a label from Harvard University from the Pearse Collection. Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
