Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

An attractive old Charcas Calcite specimen, with not-so-characteristic crystal form. They are highly modified and a far cry from the typical hexagonal plates we're used to seeing. The crystals are colorless, with sharp faces and are fairly gemmy, though contacted on the back. Overall, the piece is good condition on the front, and the little sidecar crystals make for a nice accent and three-dimensional appeal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10463). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
