Calcite (ex Jim Robison Collection)

Item Description

A cute little reference thumbnail specimen of Calcite from the famous Millington Quarry in New Jersey. This locality is probably best known for its amazing Pectolite specimens, and although Calcite is fairly common, you don't see a lot of nice thumbnails like this piece. The 5 mm pseudocubic (rhombohedral) crystal sits aesthetically on Pyrite or possibly Chalcopyrite with minor associated Prehnite. The Calcite is sharp, well-formed, gemmy and essentially damage free. Very nice for the locality, espeically for a Calcite collector or a general carbonate enthusiast.
