Item Description
The piece hosts a sharp, translucent, well-formed, classic, golden-yellow scalenohedral crystal group with a satiny interior free of matrix. Excellent condition on the top / display side, though it is contacted on the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. A very attractive and hard to find display specimen that would make a great addition to a Calcite suite or a collection of Colorado minerals. This locality is a bit obscure, but is known to Colorado collectors as it has produced some of the most interesting and easily identifiable Calcites from anywhere. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California.
