Tsumeb is not really widely known for calcite, but yet some great calcite came out of there, particularly in the 1960s-1980s. This is a classic style for that time, with stacked rhombohedrons of lustrous and translucent, snow-white calcite to 1.2 cm across. They are perched on a mound of copper-rich ore, so this matrix is solid and heavy. A pretty, stark white specimen, of good size for a Tsumeb calcite with aesthetics. It is mostly complete, though there is some minor bruising on the edges. From the Namibia collection of dealer/collector, Shields Flynn, which we purchased in 2019.
