Item Description

Most people don't know how fine the numerous Zeolites and associated species from the various quarries in the Watchung Moutains actually are. It should be noted that this quarry is one of the very few extensive exposures of the Preakness Basalt in New Jersey. The Braen's Quarry was for many years a seldom collected locality, and nearly 10 years ago, some daring individuals made their way into the quarry to collect some very attractive specimens. This piece features sharp, pale golden color, translucent rhombs of Calcite measuring up to 8 mm on matrix.
