A stunning, gemmy, water-clear crystal with incredible luster is set on a background of smaller, glistening Calcites from a French locality that has only produced a minimal amount of these specimens, and is well known in Europe for calcite of this high luster. This doubly terminated, totally gem and colorless scalenohedral crystal exhibits a crazy glassy luster and is so transparent you can see the smaller Calcite crystals it's set on right through the crystal! The smaller Calcites are also super gemmy and lustrous adding tremendous sparkle to the piece and they range in size from 0.5 to 1.5 cm. The piece is very nicely composed and the Calcites are set on a tan conglomerate matrix. Valued $700
