Item Description

A surreal and aesthetic combination pseudomorph specimen from this well-known Peru mine. Hollow epimorphs of large calcite scalenohedrons have been pseudomorphed by tiny densely intergrown, lustrous and translucent dogtooth calcite crystals. The striking large pseudo is 6.3 cm. The pristine pseudos are dramatically set on the sculptural triangular matrix covered with starkly contracting tiny, sparkly, brassy and partially iridescent pyrite pyritohedrons. Such pseudomorphs are RARE from here and this is an exceptional example. Rich pink fluorescence. Ex Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection.
