Item Description
A very rare, perhaps UNIQUE, calcite "egg" cave pearl from the Mogok Valley and the Bill Larson Burma (Myanmar) Collection. Cave pearls are small spherules of either Calcite or Aragonite that form around a nucleus, such as a grain of sand, in cave and mine pools. The pearls are deposited by dripping water containing the dissolved mineral matter (mindat). This striking pearl is half dissolved away revealing the growth layers, adding much character and interest.
