Item Description
A classic example of the relatively rare, twinned, gemmy Calcites with phantoms (Manganite or Hematite) from the famous Wessels Mine. The luster is superb, and the Calcite is perfectly gemmy save for the well-defined phantom. The crystal is actually doubly-terminated - one end is a butterfly twin, the other termination is a single termiantion. The multiple phantoms are sharp and attractive. There are contacts on both the front and the back, but one of the front contacts is actually a finely crystallized cast. Aesthetic and very interesting mineralogically.
