Item Description
A beautiful, showy classic Calcite specimen from Tieshan Mine (Daye Mine). This attractive small cabinet sized piece features a 3.3 cm, sharp, lustrous, translucent, colorless Calcite scalenohedron with a slight coating of reddish iron oxide on one side to create a gorgeous color, sitting atop smaller Calcites of an off-white hue, on matrix. The main Calcite crystal is both twinned and doubly-terminated, and sits beautiful atop the center of the specimen. These specimens are certainly dwindling on the market now, and if you collect Calcites or Chinese minerals, or if you just want to get your hands on a very good representation of these wonderful Calcites, don't miss out on this one. Nothing new from this locality has been on the market for several years.
