Item Description
This piece is many years old, and is NOT a contemporary specimen. It's a hard to find Calcite specimen for Colorado, as we seldom see pieces from the Copper Rivet Mine on the market. The piece features a beautiful, gemmy, doubly-terminated, sharp, translucent pale golden scalenohedral Calcite crystal measuring 1.4 cm with additional Calcites on matrix. Micro Azurite Malachite can be seen associated on the bottom and back of the piece. For a Colorado specimen, this is a good piece from the Western Slope. I haven't seen many specimens from this mine over the years, and I don't think there will be any more of them available in the future. If you're a Colorado collector, or a collector of Calcite in general, this is a good opportunity to add a hard to find piece from this lesser known locality in western Colorado. From the collection of Brian Kosnar
