Item Description
A showy older specimen from Elmwood with all the well-known species together on the same piece. A pair of sharp, well-formed, lustrous doubly-terminated crystals measuring up to 8.2 cm, are sitting atop gemmy purple cubes of Fluorite which are sitting on a group of "Ruby Jack" Sphalerite, and accented by an attractive semi-spherical group of cream colored Baryte at the base. The Calcites are definitively different as one of them has a classic golden hue, while the other is nearly colorless, an oddity for the locality as you don't often see two crystals right next to each other with such a disparity in hue. It should be noted that the upper termination on the larger crystal is unfortunately cleaved, but overall the piece is in very good condition, and quite showy as you can see from the video.
Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, mined in the 1980s.
