Gallatin is known for producing attractive golden colored scalenohedral Calcites, similar to pieces from the Elmwood Mine in Tennessee. The area is difficult and remote place to collect. This piece is an excellent example of this seldom-seen material featuring a sharp, translucent, beautiful golden colored, doubly-terminated scalenohedron with a few accessory terminations flaring off the main crystals. Good quality all around with no major damage. Doubly-terminated crystals from this area are rarely seen, and this one of the best examples we've had to offer in the auctions in a long time.
