A unique, sculptural LARGE CABINET calcite specimen from the Green Mountains of Vermont. This striking piece consists of interconnected, globular, calcite concretions. Each gray concretion has an interesting banded pattern and they sparkle from being coated with calcite microcrystals. It looks like a gigantic ameoba! Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of trivial bruising and a few contact points on the sides. The backside is more flattened and doesn't have the form of the front. Certainly a very rare and dramatic occurrence from Vermont. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection and valued at $650-750.
