Item Description
While recent finds made cobaltian pink calcite more common a few years ago, this piece has rather shocking color, a higher intensity and saturation than 99 percent of what came out. It also has unusually discrete, isolated crystals to 5mm. For both reasons, color and sharp rhombohedral crystals in isolation, this makes for a choice miniature with some visual impact. We are honored to present another lot of deaccessions to auction from the collection of Jack Halpern of San Francisco, as featured in the Mineralogical Record, March 2005.
