Item Description

Mineral specimens are uncommon from this less well-known Quebec limestone quarry. Dramatic stacked clusters of iron oxide-coated, glassy, colorless, nailhead calcite rhombs form a highly sculptural specimen. All of the crystal faces have tiny, sparkly, preferential coatings of golden marcasite adding pizzazz. A bit of periphery wear is noted on the sides and on both ends, but this remains a striking, excellent and rare style of calcite from this locale. The piece looks great from either end. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection.
