Calcite (classic Tennessee)

An elegant cluster of amber yellow calcites from the famous Elmwood Mine, this is classic material from the most famous calcite mine in the USA. Elmwood has distinct crystals, and these are immediately recognizable. While not uncommon, this is a particularly good specimen in the size for a combination of overall aesthetics (it looks like they are dancing!), and quality. The surfaces are sharp and very lustrous, color is good, and the tips are sharp. The central crystal is a doubly terminated crystal, 9.5 cm, and twinned in the middle. It is pristine except for a few trivial and tiny dings here or there, and remarkable for the condition and overall dimensionality. It is also complete all around and is a floater. Valued $1500-2000.
