Item Description
Stunning stacked "flower blooms" of flattened, hexagonal, poker chip calcite crystals form a striking and very aesthetic 360-degree small cabinet from the historic Geevor Mine of Cornwall. The impressive large bloom at the crest is 3.6 cm wide. This famous deep tin and copper mine has produced intermittently from the late 1700s until 1992, one of the last deep tin mines in Cornwall (MINDAT). Pink fluorescence. Formerly in the very well-known Mary & Gardner Miller Calcite Collection, # 3729, sold in the 1990s to Herb Obodda. That was THE MOST FAMOUS calcite collection of all time, known for its significance and importance. Ex Tim Sherburn Collection. An outstanding and sculptural Geevor Mine calcite.
