Item Description
A beautiful miniature of the classic material from Charcas featuring sharp, hexagonal, lustrous, gemmy, white / colorless crystals of Calcite measuring up to 1.5 cm across on matrix. The main crystal is damage free, but a couple of the small secondary crystals are contacted. The piece displays well without a base or clay. This particular habit is not commonly seen from Charcas, and this piece would make a great addition to any Calcite suite or a Mexican mineral collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12110). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
