Item Description
Here we have an attractive, aesthetic, old-time Charcas Calcite specimen featuring a stacked group of off-white colored compressed ("disc"-like) and prismatic crystals free of matrix. The terminations have more of a milky white hue, almost "white caps" if you will. The largest crystal measures 1.2 cm long. The crystals show an eye-catching pink fluorescence under SW UV light, which means that they are manganese-bearing, even if they don't show much in the way of a pink color. The piece is in good shape on the front/display side, with minor imperfections that you can see under magnification. A showy display piece of these now hard to find Calcites from one of the great Mexican localities.
