Item Description

A big, eye-catching piece of the famous Calcites from the famed Sweetwater Mine in Missouri. This piece features a 6.4 cm, prismatic trigonal crystal with a light golden hue (which transitions to nearly colorless at the termination) aesthetically flaring off a matrix coated by little rhombic Dolomites and sparkling metallic iridescent brassy Chalcopyrite. These specimens are not nearly as common on the market as they once were, and are easily some of the most well known U.S. Calcite specimens extant. No damage and very aesthetic. Beautiful old-time material from one of the more productive specimen localities in the Midwest United States.
