Item Description
The famed Elmwood Mine in Tennessee is one the premier localities for Calcite in the world. These best of these iconic crystals are remarkable for their form, luster, sharpness, color and often gemminess. This piece features several razor-sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy/translucent scalenohedral crystals, free of matrix ranging in color from nearly colorless at the base to a pleasing golden hue on the terminations. The piece is in very good shape, and the only roughness is on the lower portion where it was separated from the pocket. These pieces are not nearly as common on the market as they were years ago, and they are true classics, beloved by collectors for the supreme quality.
