Item Description
Classic, unusual and excellent two-generation calcite from this well-known underground limestone mine. Glassy, transparent to translucent, sharp gray rhombs to 4.3 cm are aesthetically clustered on lustrous, translucent, flattened, cream-colored rhombs to 4.0 cm. The gray rhombs have nifty, stepped-growth faces and the myriad of tiny, very sparkly included pyrite or marcasite crystals really adds pizzazz to this showy piece. One corner of the large gray rhomb is bruised and a bit of modest bruising is noted to the creamy rhombs. There are many more gray rhombs on the back, as a bonus. This is showy calcite combination with fine form. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
