Item Description

This classic tephrite lava quarry is well-known for exceptional hemispherical calcite specimens. A 2.7 cm, lustrous, translucent, olive-brown compound ball is aesthetically set in the vesicle with numerous smaller light olive-green balls. The vug is lined with brown calcite microcrystals. A striking and excellent display specimen. Many came out in the late 1980s but they have been scarce since. This is a good one with a "big ball"! Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
