Item Description

An impressive and excellent large plate of dogtooth calcite crystals from this famous Ohio locale. These translucent and lustrous scalenohedrons have classic, golden-amber color and stepped-growth faces. Crystals reach 2.6 cm and you can barely tell, that a couple of crystals have gently cleaved terminations. New specimens from this locale are no longer available and specimens of this size were uncommon. Ex. Schlichter Collection.
