Item Description

A rich and excellent large calcite plate from this historic old Pb-Zn-Fe mine in Alston Moor District. Rosettes of lustrous, translucent, light gray calcite disks are richy and aesthetically clustered on the limestone matrix. The flattened rhombs reach 1.8 cm. The dense interior is pristine and the noted light bruising on two corners is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine and showy example from the Bob Trimingham Collection. The piece has several fine display views. Bright orange-pink fluorescence.
