Item Description
Unusual and interesting miniature calcite from one of the mines at famed Bisbee. A large, blocky rhombohedron is jauntily perched on calcite. The translucent, gray calcite has satin luster faces. The right face and most of the frontal face are all there. However, the lower part of the frontal face appears to be etched. The left side appears to be both etched and contacted, with no damage. The attachment is out-of-sight on the back of the piece. Probably old-time material, but no proof. Faint ghostly white LW UV fluorescence. Formerly in the Hardman Collection. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection, a focus collection well known from exhibits throughout many years on the East Coast.
