Calcite (circa 1894 & fluorescent) ex Obodda

Item Description

Transparent to translucent, very glassy, intergrown, colorless, nailhead calcite rhombs form a showy and excellent old-timer from this historic district. A nifty piece, as there is actually two layers of crystals on this mounded plate. Nearly pristine, with only very minor periphery wear on the lower left. Fine material from the von Knobelsdorff'sche Collection with an 1894 date. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued by Herb at $550, more than five years ago. Pink fluorescence.
