A dramatic, very sculptural, calcite specimen from the famous mines at Pribram. The striking, mountain range-like piece features lustrous, translucent, sharp calcite scalenohedrons preferentially coated with sparkly, iridescent, multi-hued, chalcopyrite microcrystals. These specimens have very interesting development: the original scalenohedrons were all covered with chalcopyrite, and then the calcite began growing again, enveloping the original crystal in some areas and leaving the chalcopyrite exposed in others. This outstanding piece is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial edgewear to one of the spikes. It diplays superbly from either side.
