Item Description
Impressive and sculptural large 360-degree matrix calcite from the famous Sweetwater Mine of Missouri. A striking and pristine parallel-growth pair of sharp calcite spikes is aesthetically set on the sculptural limestone matrix studded with iridescent brassy chalcopyrite crystals with dolomite. The dramatic large calcite is 11.5 cm long and is doubly terminated. The faces of the lustrous, translucent, cream-colored calcites are enhanced by the striations and preferential secondary etching. Ex Jim Boteler Collection of Dallas. A classic and very showy large matrix calcite from the well-known locale.
