Calcite (''butterfly''-twin) (fluorescent)

Item Description

A lovely "butterfly"-twinned, gemmy, slightly golden colored Calcite measuring 3.1 cm, with additional un-twinned Calcite crystals from this lesser-known locality in Peru. The crystals are sharp, well-formed, and lustrous with very little damage. Twinned Calcites of any style are rarely seen from Peru, and these particular specimens are virtually unseen on the market. This is an old piece, dating back to the 1980s and if you collect Calcites, twins or minerals of Peru, it's a beautiful miniature display specimen from a rare locality. Light blue fluorescence can be seen under SW UV light.
