Item Description
A classic "butterfly"-twinned Calcite from a discovery in the 1980s at the Devils Corral Mine in Nevada. The piece is has a gentle white hue (with slight iron oxide coloring) and a vitreous luster. The faces are sharp, smooth and well-formed, and it even shows a bit of gemminess when backlit. Unfortunately most of one half of the twin was contacted, but you can still clearly see the twinning plane, when viewed down from the top. A decent reference piece of this uncommon material from a lesser known mine.
