Item Description
A stunning, large, symmetrical, 360-degree, brain-like hemisphere of knobby calcite from the famous and ancient mines at Cavinc. The pretty, lustrous, cream-colored knobs are composed of tiny dogtooth calcite crystals, adding character. The matrix is quartz with pyrite. Calcite is a signature species from Cavnic, having produced a myriad of forms and colors. BUT, well-formed hemispheres of this size and quality are RARE. Ex Chet Leamanski Collection and acquired in 2007. An exceptional and unusual large calcite from Cavnic.
