Calcite (beautiful crystals) (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A gorgeous three-dimensional display specimen of Calcite from Dalnegorsk. This small sized specimen features wonderful, gemmy, highly lustrous, soft pinkish colored trigonal crystals of Calcite forming almost "flower"-shaped groups, which are sitting atop Galena and Sphalerite to create a showy and eye-catching overall piece. I can see some roughness on the back of the piece, but overall it's in great shape and it's so well balanced and displays wonderfully. Great quality material, and I think these are now regarded as classics in the mineral world. Priced at $1,400 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
