Item Description
Exceptional, and unusual, cluster of lustrous, smoky Calcites, on a base of, and intergown with, Apophyllite, Stilbite, Quartz, and possibly Mordenite. The lustrous Calcites have an almost triangular, tabular habit, and range up to 3.2 cm on edge. The Apophyllites are super-lustrous and gemmy 1 cm rectangular prisms that are found throughtout the specimen. The Quartz and Stilbites are frosty translucent crystals that mostly comprise the lower plate below the Calcites. The Mordenites, true to form, are found in small crystalline balls edging much of the specimen. For combination of exceptional minerals and excellent aesthetics, this is a terrific specimen, for its uniqueness and beauty both
