Calcite and Hematite (old classic)

Calcite specimens are very rare from this region of the Urals and here we have a very special large combination specimen from the 19th Century with a custom-made box. Dogtooth calcite crystals fully line the large vug in calcite and hematite matrix. The box is not in the best of shape, but it is fitted for the specimen and the large label from Joseph Unterberger, Munich, is glued to the bottom of the box. Ernst Weldhaas Collection. The box is 17.4 x 13.2 x 9.3 cm. Just interesting for the history!
