Calcite and Dolomite on Quartz (ex Obodda)

Combination dolomite specimens are rare from the well-known mines of the Rhodope Mountains. This sculptural and aesthetic mounded CABINETspecimen is highlighted by five, nicely spaced, sharp calcite scalenohedrons, that are fully coated with sparkly, tan dolomite microcrystals. Strikingly, the many quartz points are also preferentially coated with dolomite, but leaving the terminations sticking out from the encircling dolomite. The dolomite gives the piece dramatic visual appeal. Pristine, except for minor periphery wear. Fine, rare and very unusual combination material from the Herb Obodda dealer stock.
