Calcite and Dolomite on Fluorite

A striking, gemmy, 5.7 cm, doubly terminated calcite scalenohedron is dramatically set on the crest of this sculptural and impressive large mounded 360-degree combination from the noted Moscona Mine. Additional smaller calcites, along with a beautiful field of gem, golden-yellow fluorite cubes, to 1.2 cm, are a super complement, contrast and typical accessory. Another side of the piece hosts a field of cream-colored, saddle-shaped dolomite rhombohedrons. Ex Raul Sanabria Orellana Collection, a well-known Spanish collector and author. He is the co-author of the excellent recent 2024 Mineralogical Record Berbes, Spain article in Vol 55, No 1 and co-author of the 2021 Mineralogical Record article on the Aliva Mining District, Spain Vol. 52, No. 4. A fine and artistic large combination from the famous locale, that displays well without aid.
