Item Description

A showy, three-dimensional specimen of Calcite from Charcas featuring very sharp, highly lustrous, elongated scalenohedral crystal groups free of matrix. The color ranges from white to colorless as the crystals are slightly translucent in areas. Very good quality all around and certainly worth picking up if you collect Calcites or Mexican minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5277). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
