Calcite & Adularia (excellent) ex Obodda

Well-crystallized calcite and K-feldspar variety adularia specimens of this large size and quality are very uncommon from the Alpine-type deposits at Alchuri. Classic, very sharp, glassy, translucent, white adularia crystals to 3.5 cm are strikingly complimented by a curved cluster of iron oxide-coated disks of intergrown lustrous and translucent calcite rhombs. Very nearly pristine, with only one gently bruised edge to a calcite rhomb. A dramatic, excellent and sculptural large combination specimen from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. It displays beautifully without aid. Herb valued this choice piece at $750, more than five years ago. It is worth more today.
