A great display specimen of these attractive and quality specimens of Calcite from a coal mine in Daye, in Hubei, China. This attractive small cabinet sized piece features a pair of sharp, well-formed, gemmy, beautiful golden yellow colored, robust trigonal crystals of Calcite measuring up to 4.7 cm across on very minor matrix. I love the superb crystal definition of the Calcites, that are distinctive for the species and for Chinese Calcites. Nothing else look like these Calcites from anywhere else in China. The piece is in good shape overall, though there are some small nicks on the periphery. This specimen is from a small find at this deposit from several years ago (about 2010). It was quickly depleted and these are all but impossible to find anymore. Classic material and every Calcite collection needs to have one of these specimens in it. Priced at $600.
