Item Description
Choice, cabinet-sized cluster of attractive, translucent Calcites from Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Calcites from this area tend to have more of a scalenohedral habit, but these are lustrous blades that grow almost radially up from the matrix. In doing so they form two large, almost rosette-like clusters. The size and aesthetics are impressive, and there is even a soft, creamy-orange fluorescence that adds to the overall character of this fine Irish specimen. Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection.
