Over the last 20+ years, many of the mines in China have produced some of the most beautiful and iconic specimens of Calcite ever found. The large amount of fine quality and highly displayable specimens that have been found combined with the myriad of colors and crystals habits seen is truly mesmerizing. This is a fantastic cabinet sized specimen from the famous find in 2009 at the Tieshan Mine (Daye Mine) featuring large, sharp, blocky, gemmy, rich amber colored calcite rhombs measuring up to 4.0 cm across on a thin slab of matrix. These pieces caused quite a stir at the 2009 Munich Show and the 2010 Tucson Show. The crystals on this specimen are very glassy and limpid. Minor damage is present, so the piece is not pristine, but you can't get these anymore, they've completely disappeared from the market it seems.
