Item Description

This is a highly aesthetic and three-dimensional display specimen of Calcite from Leiping. The specimen features a predominant, very sharp, well-formed, lustrous, soft pinkish-grey color trigonal crystal measuring 7.1 cm across beautifully perched atop a group of additional Calcite crystals - some of which feature a more compressed habit - and no matrix. The main crystal atop the specimen is almost like a searchlight, sitting on top of a hill. I love how the trigon shaped termination just stares you right in the eye when the piece is displayed. The main crystal is not damaged on the front, though a few of the secondary crystals are contacts on the lower portion of the specimen. It's very attractive in person, arguably better than the photos. It's a showy piece and one of the few I have seen like it. Worthwhile for any Calcite collector due to the gorgeous habit / style of the crystals or a great pickup for a Chinese mineral collector. Don't miss out, these are not easy to find on the market, and very pretty to boot. Priced at $1,250.
