Calcite

Item Description

Beautiful sharp, well-formed, compressed rhombic scalenohedra with a silky / vitreous white color sitting on matrix. Some of the crystals are fairly gemmy when backlit, and the piece shows nice pink fluorescence under UV light. The largest crystal measures 2.0 cm. A good Alpine Calcite specimen, which are not as common as one might think, from this locality in the Hinterrhein Valley.
