Item Description
An attractive near large cabinet display specimen from Moscona featuring very sharp, lustrous, off-white colored scalenohedra of Calcite with notably reddish interiors on matrix. I don't know if the Calcites have some kind of iron-oxide inclusions, or if they have overgrown a preexisting reddish mineral. The crystals have a pseudo-scepter effect and a very pleasing layered, "fan"-like formation. The piece is in great shape overall, with only a few blemishes and the largest Calcite measures 2.8 cm long. A worthwhile and aesthetic showcase specimen from this well known Fluorite producing district. Valued at $1,000. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen weighs 1.2 kilograms which is over 2.5 pounds, so there will be an additional shipping charge. Please keep this in mind when bidding.
