Item Description

A great historic Calcite specimen from this prolific Silver mining district in central Germany. Calcites from St Andreasberg can vary widely in habit, and are high sought after by collectors of European classics. This specimen hosts sharp, translucent to gemmy, modified crystals of Calcite which are actually forming somewhat scepter habit crystals overgrowing a previous generation of Calcite. The largest crystal measures 3.1 cm across, and most crystals are in excellent condition.
