Calcite from Tsumeb is found in a variety of habits and colors, including black! This is an attractive and classic thumbnail specimen featuring sharp, modified rhombohedra of Calcite included with and/or coated by black iron oxide (most likely Goethite). The piece is essentially damage free, and is a very good quality Tsumeb Calcite considering it's opaque. Tsumeb specimens are becoming harder to find on the market, and this piece is a great representative specimen of this attractive and well known material.
