Calcite (3 generations) on Quartz (classic locale)

Item Description

Three generations of calcite crystals are dramatically festooned on both sides of the sculptural large quartz crystal plate on this very fine combination from the historic mines at Cavnic. The front is strikingly dominated by the larger nubby, tan scalenohedrons. The doubly terminated twinned pair and the large single on the left side are both 4.0 cm long. The multitude of smaller crystals adds real flair and richness to the piece. The top front and back host clusters of stacked third generation glassy, translucent, flattened nailhead calcite disks. Pristine. A very fine and artistic large combination from this classic locale.
